The Parks and Recreation Board consists of five members, each of whom are appointed by Borough Council to serve 5-year terms.

Meetings are held at borough hall on the fourth Wednesday of each month at 7:00 p.m.

The Board, working with the manager and public works department, is responsible for the oversight of all of the various parks in the Borough, as well as arranging for special recreational events throughout the year.

RUSTIC PICNIC: This is Birdsboro’s premier park. The adjacent Hay Creek provides the park with a tranquil and picturesque setting which makes it a great place to have children’s birthday parties (adults, too!), large family picnics, reunions and, yes… even weddings! Four pavilions (two with fireplaces) are available for rent from April through October. Some of the pavilions have the capacity to accommodate up to 100 guests. Picnic tables and charcoal grills are provided. Water and electric service is also available. There are two restrooms – one is located between pavilions #1 and #2 and the other is located between pavilions #4 and #5. For rules, reservation and rental fee information, click here.

MAIN BIRD PARK: The park is located at Main and Water Streets and is adjacent to the Hay Creek. Many improvements were recently made to the park. The addition of picnic tables and grills make this a great place for a family to relax and enjoy the outdoors. Bring the charcoal, hot dogs and hamburgers, grab the kids and come on down for a daytime or early evening picnic along the Hay Creek. While you’re busy cooking, the kids can entertain themselves on the playground equipment.

VEST POCKET PARK: This park is located on W. First Street, directly across from the fire company. Enjoy an afternoon or evening of tennis with friends or simply enjoy some quiet time while the kids entertain themselves on the play equipment.

LINCOLN PARK: Lincoln Park is a small neighborhood park located on Orange Street near High Street.
