During the months of June, July and August, Council will meet only on the second Monday of each month: June 14, July 12 and August 9. The meetings for the first Monday have been canceled.
In accordance with the Code of Ordinances of the Borough of Birdsboro, the repair and replacement of concrete curbs, sidewalks and driveway aprons along the streets of the Borough of Birdsboro shall be made by the owner of the lot abutting thereon in accordance with details and specifications enacted by the borough.
We have prepared a guide for borough property owners in the replacement of concrete curbs, sidewalks and driveway aprons. These specifications describe minimum borough requirements that must be followed by property owners and/or their contractors when performing this work. MORE
The Borough is fortunate to have a very low crime rate, thanks to the vigilance of both police officers and citizens. We do, however, experience senseless vandalism that can be committed in 30-seconds or less. Residents are able to assist the police department by reporting any such activity, regardless of how minor they perceive the damage to be. Vandals who get away with minor destruction of property quickly move on to more severe and costly damage. A strong police-citizen partnership will help curb the increase in property destruction in the Borough. MORE INFO
During the month of April, many Birdsboro residents discovered that their “unlocked” vehicles were entered overnight. The police department identified at least one suspect and an arrest is pending. I ask all Borough residents to lock their vehicles prior to retiring for the evening to avoid or lessen the likelihood that their vehicles will be entered. In addition, do not leave GPS units, satellite radios, computers, weapons, purses or any other valuable item in the vehicle in plain view. Doing so increases your chance of being a victim of crime. Lastly, please report ANY suspicious person(s) or activity in your neighborhoods to the police department. Crime prevention is a team effort.
Thanks,
Chief Ted Roth
